Acne is known to be one of the most common skin diseases which is caused owing to excessive oil production from the sebaceous glands, resulting in the obstruction of hair follicles. Acne is seen affecting shoulders, back and other parts of the body which have dense population owing to the secretion of sebaceous glands. Acne can occur in the skin in the form of pimples, whiteheads or blackheads.
Causes of acne
According to the Ayurvedic system of medicine, there are essentially three forms of dosha predominant in the human body. These three doshas are the Pitta, Kapha, and Vata. An imbalance in any of these doshas counts to be the primary cause of any disease. Acne is found especially in people having predominant pitta dosha. This leads to vitiating of blood and fatty tissues. Vitiated doshas are responsible for the production of toxic materials that may restrict the energy channels of the face resulting in the formation of pimples.
